Meat Beat Manifesto featuring DJ Collage - In Dub
review by Melissa Larsen
rating: 7/10

…In Dub is a surprising collaboration between Jack Dangers, leading man of the electronica band known as Meat Beat Manifesto and the "Raggamuffin MC", DJ Collage. Granted, this is isn't totally new material, but is now an elaborate mix of dub, dancehall, and high-quality traditional electronica that nobody does better than Dangers himself. This album is actually a remix of Meat Beat Manifesto's 2002 album RUOK?. I was begging to loose faith in Danger's musical talents after the release of RUOK?, But with a stripped-down instrumental version of the original composition, intense and layered cuts, and DJ Collage's talents of mixing American music with Jamaica's
on five tracks (including the lonely bass jam of "Echo in Space Dub" and "Super Soul Dub"): my faith in Jack Dangers has been fully restored. DJ collage himself is a collaboration master, being able to fuse his dancehall vocal flavor with the techno world. This album is a must-hear for avid Dub and Electronica enthusiasts everywhere and receives a 7/10 from Bay Area Reggae.
